Using Behavior Calendars to Bridge School – Home Communication

Building a bridge for communication between school and home can sometimes be a challenge. There is a ton of daily and weekly communication that has to happen so families can be informed about all the things!

Behavior calendars are a way for teachers to communicate daily important information to families.

These behavior calendars have three behavior monitoring/ reward system options. The first option is a point system. FYI… these charts are editable so you can also change the point system if needed. Point system charts allow students to earn points based on their behavior for the day. The student and teacher can work together to determine appropriate rewards. These reinforcer menus are helpful to decide what motivates your students.

Another option is a color system. Students earn a color based on their behavior for the day. Depending on the student behavior goals and behavior needs, the reward system and color key can be modified.

Behavior calendars with monthly behavior expectation provide students and families with reminders of behavior expectations. This gives families a glimpse into what behavior goals are being taught and monitored each month. These can also be edited to fit your classroom needs. All the calendars have an option to add information, important dates, and reminders to send home!
