Classroom Jobs

Responsibilities to help the teacher and provide students with ownership of classroom duties.

Two Options Included:

-Each student is assigned one job per week or day that they are in charge of

-One student per day or week that is in charge of all classroom jobs

What is included:

Option 1: Individual Classroom Jobs: Students are assigned one job per week or per day. Create a bulletin board or space in your classroom to post classroom job posters and classroom job visual cards. Use the templates provided for easy use of posting and changing out classroom jobs. Attach Velcro to the back of the cards and front of the template to change out classroom jobs. Use a post-it or write the student name next to the classroom jobs for quick changing.

Classroom Job Visual Cards:

Jobs Included: Paper patrol, line leader, light night, trash collector, tech support, librarian, calendar commander, water waiter, recess helper, spot checker, clean up crew, attendance clerk, material monitor, door holder, weather reporter, board cleaner, class messenger, restroom monitor, zookeeper, pencil sharpener, calm down corner cleaner, buddy walker, disinfectant duty, teacher assistant, classroom DJ, kindness leader, off duty

Template for posting and assigning classroom jobs: print and laminate, attach Velcro to the back of the cards and front of the template to change out classroom jobs. Use a post-it or write the student name next to the classroom job

Classroom Job descriptions: assign students daily, or weekly to classroom jobs. Laminate and write names with a wet eraser marker for extended use.

Off Duty Visual: If you choose to have students that are not assigned to a job, write their names on the off duty visual.

Option 2: Classroom VIP: Assign one student per day or per week to be in charge of all the classroom jobs.
