Halloween in the Special Education Classroom
Differentiated math, reading and writing activities and centers to use around Halloween time.
These activities can be done individually, in small group settings, centers or how ever it best fits your classroom!

Vampire Letter Practice:
Practice writing letters
Halloween Beginning Sounds:
Student looks at the picture, then writes the correct beginning sound in the box next to the picture.
Vampire Beginning Sound Spin:
Use a pencil and paper clip to spin to a blend. When you land on a blend, say the blend. Then find the blend on the Vampire Word List and write two words that start with that blend.
Halloween Word Match:
Cut out the words at the bottom of the page. Look at the first picture and match the correct word to the picture and paste the word in the box next to the picture. Continue until all words are used.
Halloween Wacky Words:
Look at the picture and say the word. Then write the correct word next to the picture in the handwriting line provided.
Halloween Wacky Sentences:
Look at the picture. Write a sentence on the line next to the picture using the picture word.
Read a Halloween Word
Halloween Word Masters:
Cut out letters and making as many words from the letters included.

It’s Me on Halloween Writing
Halloween Numbers:
Write numbers 1-100 using fun Halloween colors in the blank 100’s chart.
Candy Corn Count:
Count the number of candy corn and write the correct number next to the candy corn.
Candy Corn Addition Facts:
Student solves the addition number sentence and writes the sum next to the number sentence. An extension to this activity is using candy corn as manipulatives to help students solve the problem.
Candy Corn Subtraction Facts:
Student solves the subtraction number sentence and write the difference next to the number sentence. An extension to this activity is using candy corn as manipulatives to help students solve the problem.
Monster Number Roll:
Student needs a die, Student rolls the die twice and records the numbers in the provided two blanks in the first column. Student then adds the numbers together and records in the second column. Subtracts the numbers in the third column. Then finally makes the largest number possible in the fourth column.
Candy Corn Roll:
Addition, subtraction from 10, subtraction and multiplication candy corn roll game options.
