How to Wrap a Christmas Present

This is a super fun writing craftivity to do around the holidays.

First, students get a graphic organizer to plan out their writing. There are 3 different graphic organizers that are included to meet the various needs and levels of your students. Students plan out their steps using the transition words, first, next and last. Two of the three graphic organizers allow for students to draw a picture to help them with their ideas.

Craftivity: Each student needs a present body, present top, ribbon, bow and pages. You can do this a couple of different ways. The easiest way to me is to copy these pieces onto construction paper and then have students cut them out. You could also copy them on card stock and then let your students trace then cut. Either way works. Students then assemble their present leaving the bow as the final step. Student also needs 3-4 pages. There are 4 different page sheets to choose from that range in ability and length. Cut the pages out and stable to the top part of the present. Then student can color the bow and glue the bow to the top covering the staples. Finally, students write their final How To on the pages!

Hang up on the wall or a bulletin board for others to see!
